Yankee Stadium October 8, 1956
Game 5 of the 1956 Subway Series (4 – 3 Yankees) is one of the most notable games in baseball history. Don Larsen pitched the only postseason perfect game and the only postseason no-hitter, records that stood until 2010. Mickey Mantle made a spectacular running catch, sometimes called “The Catch”, that has been replayed in countless highlight films since. This World Series was a rematch of the 1955 World Series and was the last all-New York City Series until 2000.
